Recruitment Notice: Tenure-Track Faculty Positions (Lecturer or Assistant Professor), Department of Integrative Genomics
The Tohoku Medical Megabank Organization (ToMMo) at Tohoku University is an organization that manages and operates one of the world's largest and most comprehensive general population biobanks, and is a leading international research center for large-scale genomic and omics analysis. To pioneer next-generation personalized healthcare and prevention, ToMMo has built and operates an "Integrated Biobank" based on a prospective cohort study of over 150,000 participants, including a highly unique three-generation cohort. Furthermore, it is driving cutting-edge genomic research, such as completing Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) for 120,000 individuals.
In this recruitment, we are seeking next-generation researchers (in the fields of information science, medicine, and life sciences) who, as "Research Unit Leaders (Principal Investigators / PIs)" at a University for International Research Excellence, can utilize this world-class infrastructure to autonomously create top-tier science with creative and free-thinking ideas.

Position Details
Position : Lecturer (Senior Assistant Professor) or Assistant Professor

Job Responsibilities :
Successful applicants will establish and lead independent research groups as Principal Investigators (PIs) in one of the three fields below.
1. AI-driven Genomic and Information Science
2. Life-Course Omics Science
3. Disease Cell Biology
Qualifications : Candidates must hold a Ph.D. upon taking up the post and have outstanding achievements in the above-mentioned fields of expertise.
Starting date : April 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter
